Paws Feet Feet and paws….different or the same? Let’s take a look at both of them and see what we can decide. For sure, both come in all shapes and sizes and colors! The human foot is composed of 26 bones, 23 joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles and soft tissues. It can be divided into 3 portions: hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot. A dog paw is largely made of fatty tissue and has 5 parts: claws, digital, metacarpal and carpal pads and dewclaws. Paws and feet both provide a foundation of support for standing and movements such as walking, running and jumping. In addition, paws are made with pads or extra cushioning to help protect the bones and joints from not only shock but also from extreme weather, and aid in walking on rough terrain. by DOROTHY CASE RN, MS, LMT VS. 10 | OCT - NOV - DEC 2017 ON A MISSION women-on-a-mission.com
