It was a little after 10:00pm and we had just gone to bed when the phone vibrated. I picked up the phone to see who was sending a message at this late hour. “It’s happening! We are on the way to the hospital Say a prayer!” Immediately my skin began to tingle with goosebumps and a nervous chill ran down my spine. “Everything will be alright! Keep us updated. We are praying! We love you!” And I whispered a prayer as I sent the reply. “Heavenly Fa- ther, please take care of my little girl! And while I tried to go to sleep, restful slumber successfully evaded me for the next four hours until the phone buzzed again. This time a message popped up that read “Everything went well. We are all healthy and doing fine. Congratulations Nanny and Papaw! It’s a boy!” And once again I found myself whispering a prayer to God while send- ing my reply. “Thank God! Congratulations to you both! Now get some rest. We will see you tomorrow!” We completed the four-hour journey to the hospital the next day with great antici- pation. I was immedi- ately overwhelmed by love and joy as I cra- dled my new grandson Benjamin in my trem- bling arms. I expected by BRETT HUMBLE Somebody’s Eyes Are Watching!
