Seasonal Home Cooking by the Season by VICKIE PRESSLER Ingredients: 1 Egg ¾ Cup Shortening 1 Cup Brown Sugar ¼ Cup Molasses 1/8 Teaspoon Cloves 3 Teaspoon Ginger ¼ Teaspoon Cinnamon 2 ½ Cup Flour 2 Teaspoon Baking Soda ½ Teaspoon Salt Ginger Molasses Cookies Directions: Mix in a large bowl egg, shortening, brown sugar, molasses. In another bowl add flour, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix well. Chill the dough for several hours. After the dough has chilled, roll into small balls and then roll into sugar. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
