by CAROLYN HAYES What Happens After the Potato Salad? Just the other day, I listened to a radio pro- gram that led me to thinking about death. It’s not an easy subject to talk about, but it needs to be addressed. There is no better time than the present to discuss plans. Don’t let it be right at the time when a spouse or loved one dies and then wonder about the final arrangements. I am not a professional to give counsel in these areas; however, I am faced with the same life question. So let’s go through the thought process together. Here’s the common scenario: funeral, back to the church for a memorial luncheon, and have some potato salad. Then what? I am sure there are many times couples intentionally want- ed to do preplanning with funeral arrangements, but never seemed to get around to it.
